Hickory Golf Champion, Co-Founder

Switzerland's most successful professional golfer, Paolo Quirici competed on the European Tour from 1989 to 2001. A passionate restorer and player of original hickory clubs, he is a two-time U.S. Professional Hickory Champion, 2013 World Open Hickory Champion, 2024 China Hickory Open Champion, and multiple Swiss and Italian Hickory Open Champion. His vision defines the soul of HGM.

Four divisions One vision

Hickory Golf Masters celebrates the legacy of traditional golf through four prestigious divisions: an international invitational tournament; a private members' Club; a unique historical Museum; and a dedicated Showroom & Workshop for trading and restoring original hickory equipment. The Museum offers a unique worldwide opportunity to choose and test historically original, expertly restored hickory clubs

Invitational event

A two-round tournament at the leading Italian golf venue, Circolo Golf Villa d'Este: selected gentleman golfers compete with pre-1935 hickory clubs while wearing period attire, celebrating the heritage of the game.

Members' Club

A private circle open to both men and women, providing access to exclusive events, trading privileges, and a vital role in preserving traditional golf.

Museum

A growing collection of Tom Stewart clubs acquired from Phil Gibbs, a passionate collector who, over thirty years, gathered nearly every model produced by the legendary St. Andrews club maker. The collection is now in Lugano.

Show Room

A trusted space for buying, selling, and professionally restoring antique hickory clubs – bringing them back to playing condition while respecting historical preservation.

The Hickory Masters 2026

The first Hickory Masters, taking place on 13^th–14^th May 2026, will take place on a prestigious and historical course which presents a perfect test for any Hickory player. We are privileged to be hosted by Circolo Golf Villa d’Este near Lake Como for its 100th Anniversary and to share our passion for Hickory Golf with its members.
